860 AM KNUJ/97.3 FM/SAM 107.3 and the New Ulm Hy-Vee announce this month’s Hometown Hero:  Sandy Reinke of New Ulm. Sandy owns Bailey Creek Boutique in downtown New Ulm, but this spring during the Covid pandemic she used her business to increase positivity and create community through her “Silver Linings” promotion. Sandy used social media to encourage patrons to post silver linings they found through this trying time and share them with others to help them. Many of the silver linings included more family time, kindness from neighbors, and the chance to enjoy nature and more gardening. Her push to find the bright side helped people connect and made a difference.

Congratulations to our latest Hometown Hero!  Sandy Reinke will receive a Hy-Vee gift card and be honored at a luncheon in the fall of 2021.

860 AM KNUJ/97.3 FM/SAM 107.3 and Hy-Vee wish to acknowledge those in your community, neighborhood, or organization that give the most precious gift – their time, to worthwhile causes while helping those less fortunate or rescuing efforts in an emergency situation.  We welcome nominations from a 10-county area. Get information at the service counter of Hy-Vee, on our website www.knuj.net or at the KNUJ/SAM 107.3 studios in New Ulm & Sleepy Eye. Help us share the stories of Hometown Heroes throughout the KNUJ/SAM listening area.
