A Franklin woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash northwest of Fairfax early Saturday morning. The Renville County Sheriff’s Office says 21-year-old Peyton Loken was flown to North Memorial Health in Robbinsdale for treatment of unknown injuries. The Sheriff’s Office says just before 2:30am, they were dispatched to the intersection of Co Rd 16 and 670th Avenue, which is about 4 miles northwest of Fairfax. The driver was reportedly trapped within the vehicle. The preliminary investigation revealed that Loken was driving a pickup when she drove past “Road Closed” signs in the roadway and hit a large dirt pile in the road, which stopped the vehicle. Loken was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was pinned inside and needed to be extricated. Authorities say alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash.
