Sleepy Eye Public School Superintendent John Cselovszki told the District 84 school board Tuesday that online student numbers have fallen recently. Cselovszki said the latest online student numbers are 21 elementary students and 23 students in grades 7-12. That compares to 24 K-6 students and 34 7-12 students earlier this fall. He said that while Brown County COVID-19 cases are rising, the school district will continue with in-person classes for grades K-6 and a hybrid model for grades 7-12. Cselovszki said two staff and one student have been diagnosed with COVID-19, causing them to be isolated. He said after isolation and a negative COVID-19 test, they can return to school.
