860 AM KNUJ/97.3 FM/SAM 107.3 and the New Ulm Hy-Vee announce this month’s Hometown Hero: Shawn Libor of Hutchinson. Libor took the lead in renovating Scott Schindler’s home in Hutchinson to be more accessible. Schindler was paralyzed from a head on collision near Stewart in late 2018. When he returned to Hutchinson he was unable to move back into his home due to the challenges of moving around in an electric wheelchair. Libor aided by suppliers offering the best deals they could, volunteered the manpower to renovate the home – taking a story and a half home with a two bedroom main floor and converted it to a handicap accessible main floor. Schindler was able to move into his home in late July. Schindler said he built me the “Taj Mahal” of ramps.
Congratulations to our latest Hometown Hero! Shawn Libor will receive a Hy-Vee gift card and be honored at a luncheon in the fall of 2020. 860 AM KNUJ/97.3 FM/SAM 107.3 and Hy-Vee wish to acknowledge those in your community, neighborhood, or organization that give the most precious gift – their time, to worthwhile causes while helping those less fortunate or rescuing efforts in an emergency situation. We welcome nominations from a 10-county area. Get information at the service counter of Hy-Vee, on our website www.knuj.net or at the KNUJ/SAM 107.3 studios in New Ulm & Sleepy Eye. Help us share the stories of Hometown Heroes throughout the KNUJ/SAM listening area.
