New Ulm Area Catholic Schools is scheduled to begin in person 5 days per week. Google classroom will be utilized if they should need to transition to on-line only; the New Ulm Area Catholic Schools plan for on-line learning allows for continuing all instruction remotely. Instruction will be such that students in Saint Anthony Elementary will be ready to transition to on-line learning. Classes in Cathedral High School will have a Google Classroom component to make for a seamless transition to on-line learning, should the need arise. Students will be dismissed from classes in groups. Backpacks may be permitted to reduce the number of times a student needs to go to their lockers. Highly-trafficked areas will be cleaned and disinfected throughout the day; the building will be cleaned and disinfected nightly by NUACS and contracted staff. Teachers will disinfect desks, chairs, and spaces used by the students periodically throughout the day. Additional hand-sanitizing stations; additional times for washing hands with soap and water; clear shields for all staff, teaching, and non-teaching; fans in classrooms. Masks are required for all students, staff, and guests. Exceptions include those who are not able to wear a mask and have a note from a doctor, when eating and drinking and during physical activity.
