St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Arlington and the Green Isle Community School will begin the 2020-2021 school year with an in-person learning model. St. Paul’s Lutheran School is planning to begin with face-to-face education on Tuesday, Sept. 1, according to Principal Eric Kaesermann. “The staff has spent the summer preparing for direct instruction and distance learning,” said Kaesermann. “We will begin the year with children in the classroom. Parents who would like to begin the school year with distance learning have that option for online classes.” Kaesermann said the plan to reopen was created with the help of local school districts, WELS Commission of Parish Schools, Sibley County Health, CDC, and Minnesota Department of Health. The plan is written but it allows room for flexibility as the requirements and recommendations from the government are frequently modified.
