The New Ulm Partnership received $3,000 funding from the Economic Development Authority to create a strategic plan for economic development in the city. The New Ulm Partnership is a new economic development group that consists of representatives of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce, the New Ulm Economic Development Corporation, Independent School District 88 and the City of New Ulm. The strategic plan for economic development will cost $15,000 to $50,000. New Ulm Economic Development Director Audra Shaneman said the groups are considering a plan for $22,500. This would be the first strategic plan for economic development conducted in New Ulm. The Partnership has received a grant of $7,500 from the New Ulm Area Foundation. Contributions of $1,500 have been received from the Public Utilities Commission, Development Corporation and the Chamber.
