Today (Wednesday May 27,) at 9a.m. New Ulm City Manager Chris Dalton and Michael Looft of the New Ulm Chamber of commerce hosted another community meeting to implement plans to help bars and restaurants to safely open. A group of New Ulm bar, restaurant, and retail business owners, met in the lower level of the New Ulm Public library and Via Zoom. The meeting resulted in a plan to present to the New Ulm City council Tuesday, June 2nd.The proposed plan includes closing Minnesota street from 2nd north to 3rd north street and from 1st north to center street from 5:30p.m Friday, to Sunday night. The restaurants will be using parts of Minnesota Street for outdoor seating to stay within Governor Walzs guidelines.
