The 2020 General Election is six months away, but any candidate who wants to be on a ballot in Brown County this November, must file between 8 a.m. May 19 and 5 p.m. June 2. This year, three Brown County commissioners’ seats are up for election. This includes First District Commissioner David Borchert, Second District Commissioner Anton Berg and Third District Commissioner Scott Windschitl. Three Soil and Water District supervisors are also up for election. This includes District One Supervisor Clem Windschitl, District Two Supervisor Gary Rathman and District Four Supervisor Jack Vogel. In New Ulm, three city council seats are up for election: Council President Charlie Schmitz, First Ward Councilor David Christian and Third Ward Councilor Les Schultz. In Sleepy Eye, three seats are up for election: Mayor Wayne Pelzel, First Ward Councilor JoAnn Schmidt and Ward Two Councilor Larry Braun.
