Sleepy Eye Public School Superintendent John Cselovszki recently emailed Minnesota Commissioner Mary Cathryn Ricker to ask permission for the school district to continue distance learning instruction on Friday, May 1 and Monday, May 4.Cselovszki said the school district has been instructed not to have distance learning May 1 and 4, and instead use the days for planning purposes.Cselovszki emailed Commissioner Ricker and asked for permission to continue delivering instruction since their last school day, (Friday) May 15, is fast approaching. I prefer not losing any additional instructional days.Gov. Walz announced Thursday that all public schools in Minnesota will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year and will continue with their distance learning plan.Cselovzski said Sleepy Eye Public School will continue to deliver instruction in the same manner it has done the past three weeks.
