A 27-year-old New Ulm man faces three drug charges in Brown County District Court after an early-morning traffic stop Monday. Charges filed Monday against Jonathon L. Knaak, 326 North Payne St., include gross misdemeanor fifth-degree drug possession-not a small amount of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia-two or more times, possession of hypodermic needles or syringes and driving after revocation. On March 28, New Ulm Police received information that Knaak was selling and using methamphetamine that he keeps in a black backpack. Police searched the backpack and found a plastic sandwich bag with a white crystallized substance in it. The substance field-tested positive for meth and weighed 1.68 grams. Knaak has two prior drug paraphernalia convictions. He was taken into custody.
