Winter storm warnings, watches and advisories are in effect for late tonight (Saturday) into Sunday afternoon across southern and central Minnesota into western Wisconsin. The weather service says heavy snow is expected with 6 to 8 inches expected making travel potentially very difficult. The weather service encourages you, if you must travel to have a fully-charged cell phone, warm clothes, food and water in your vehicle. Snow chances are 100% tonight and 95% tomorrow. Right now, it appears the heaviest snow is expected to fall south of the Twin Cities, potentially along and south of the Minnesota River Valley.
