The Wabasso School District has seen consistent growth over the past six years. Superintendent Wade McKittrick attributes it to people moving back to the area. However, with the growth comes a bit of a space crunch. McKittrick says a core value of the school district is to be fiscally responsible and because of that, an Early Childhood Learning Center is going to be built without the need for a bond referendum. McKittrick says bids have been put out and should come back at the end of February. Construction will hopefully start in the spring with completion anticipated for August 7th. Doors are planned to open next school year.
