A Waseca Police Officer is in critical but stable condition after being shot in the head Monday night during an incident in Waseca. 32-year-old Arik Matson and three other officers were responding to a call of a suspicious man holding a flashlight in the backyard of a residence. Waseca Police Chief Penny Voight said that the suspect, 37-year-old Tyler Janovsky was shot twice by police and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Voight says it’s unclear at this time why Jonovsky was in the back yard of the home but police know that he did have an active warrant on drug-related charges but officers didn’t know that going in. We’ll have further updates as they become available.
