Charges are pending against two Hutchinson teenagers in connection with a fire at the Walmart in Hutchinson Sunday afternoon. Hutchinson police say the fire was started in the mens’ clothing department and the fire suppression system was activated. When officers arrived, there was still a small fire burning that was extinguished with fire extinguishers. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the fire was deliberately set. Two 13-year-old Hutchinson boys were identified by a Hutchinson Police officer utilizing the store’s surveillance. The boys were located and taken into custody. Authorities are requestng first-degree arson charges through the McLeod County’s Attorney’s office. The store was evacuated and no one was reportedly injured.
