The Redwood Falls Police Department says rising water on the Redwood River has created challenges in the search for a missing 16-year-old. Police say they have access to a water search boat equipped with underwater search equipment, however because the River is high, there is no place to launch the boat where it would be utilized. The underwater equipment is ineffective in fast moving water and the erratic currents make it unsafe for divers. Police continue to utilize drones in their efforts as well as have emergency personnel participating in a ground search. A full ground and air search will resume Thursday. They are discouraging the public from conducting their own search to ensure their safety.
