The Brown County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public that 9-1-1 telephone landline communications will be affected by fiber maintenance on Thursday. The communications provider will be working on a fiber cable near Russell and moving it to make room for bridge work to be performed on State Highway 91. This work will take between 10 minutes and up to 3 hours to complete. The Brown County Dispatch Center will remain able to receive emergency calls from other carriers. The Brown County area will be affected to include Comfrey, Hanska, New Ulm, Sleepy Eye and Springfield.
