A New Ulm man is facing charges after being accused of fleeing police in Mankato. Mankato Police were patrolling the downtown area on-foot Monday morning when they stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Cherry and Front Streets for driving with no lights on. The driver identified as 29-year-old Jeremy Ibarra, allegedly appeared to be intoxicated and told officers that he had been drinking. Ibarra was told he was not free to leave, but he then fled the scene and was found getting onto Highway 169 North from the Riverfront Drive ramp. Ibarra was taken into custody and was given a preliminary breath test where he provided a sample of .248. Ibarra is facing fleeing police in a motor vehicle and DWI charges.
