The Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office reported that charges have been filed against 6 individuals involved in a prostitution sting that was conducted in May. Those charged with gross misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution in a public place include 29-year-old Sarah Bauer of Faribault, 24-year-old Nicholas Moser of La Crescent, 30-year-old Derek Morgan of Blooming Prairie, 55-year-old Julie Bierman of St. Louis Park, 35-year-old Nicholas Kay of St. Peter, and 73-year-old William Dunphy of St. Peter. The sting took place at a hotel in Nicollet County by investigators from the Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office, the Mankato Department of Public Safety, the Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force and the New Ulm Police Department.
Investigators will continue to educate the public on human trafficking and prostitution while
trying to provide services to the individuals selling sex. Law Enforcement continues to work
with at risk youth, public service professionals, and civic organizations on the complex problem. “The Minnesota girls are not for sale” campaign has resulted in the arrest of 116 individuals in the Nicollet County area.
