The Brown County Board of Commissioners approved a new salary administration plan on Tuesday morning. The plan implements a 13-step salary range schedule with a 32% range from entry level to the maximum step for paying non-union salaried and hourly employees. The issue was originally brought to the Board in September and tabled until more information could be gathered and discussed by a Salary Administration Task Force. Commissioner Dave Borchert expressed support for the move, saying that this is an important step to retain employees. The Commissioners acknowledged that this would be a large chunk of money affecting the levy, but they believed they have to adjust to the employee’s market.
