The Minnesota State Patrol reported an accident involving a Lincoln Town Car and a semi near Mankato on Wednesday afternoon. The Lincoln driven by 85-year-old Francis Schiltz of Iowa was stopped on the southbound shoulder of Highway 169 near Blue Earth County Road 90, it then pulled into the right lane to make a U-turn and was struck by a southbound semi driven by 46-year-old Joseph Berg of Lakeland. Schiltz and his passenger were taken to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato for non-life threatening injuries. Assisting at the scene was the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Crystal Police, Mankato Police, South Bend Fire, and MnDOT.
