A Mankato man has been charged after threatening his father with a knife. On Monday, officers were called to a residence in Mankato for the report of an unknown medical emergency. When authorities arrived, they found 32-year-old Jeremy Freundl trying to stab his father who was struggling to hold him off. Freundl ignored officer commands and was brought to the ground after being tasered. Officers were later informed that Freundl was wearing body armor underneath his clothing. Witnesses said that Freundl charged the victim and cut the phone lines when he tried to call 911 and continued to charge him for 30-45 minutes before a witness was able to contact a neighbor to alert police. Freudl is facing multiple assault charges as well as committing a crime while wearing a bullet proof vest and interfering with a 911 call.
