The Minnesota State Patrol reported an accident involving three vehicles near Willmar on Tuesday evening that left several teens with injuries. A Mitsubishi driven by 34-year-old John Broda of Zimmerman was southbound on Highway 71 and stopped to turn left into a driveway near 60th Avenue Southeast and was rear ended by a Chrysler driven by 23-year-old Juan Ruiz of Willmar, which pushed the Mitsubishi into oncoming traffic and it collided head-on with a Pontiac driven by 19-year-old Michael Curry of Olivia. Curry and his 3 teenage passangers, and Broda were transported to Rice Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Distracted driving is suspected to have contributed to the crash. Willmar Police, Fire and Rescue and the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
