A New Ulm man is facing multiple charges after being accused of stealing thousands of dollars from his former employer. An officer with the New Ulm Police Department met with a victim in June who reported a theft from his business, Autobahn Motors. The victim reported that a former employee, 26-year-old Cody Campbell who was in charge of creating invoices, selling cars, and taking payments, stole over $16,000 from the business. The issues started in September of 2017 and continued through February of 2018, when he noticed that 13 vehicles were sold and he saw no profit. The victim stated that Campbell would take cash payments from customers and keep it for himself. Campbell was also accused of billing the business for unwarranted parts and items that he purchased through Amazon and EBay. Investigators found that the missing funds were applied to Campbell’s car loans. Campbell has been charged with 5 counts of theft and 1 count of financial transaction card fraud.
