Mountain Lake Public Schools was under a lockdown on Wednesday for a possible threat. Superintendent Bill Strom issued a letter to parents, students, and staff saying that at 9:49 a.m. a writing was discovered in the high school making a reference to a potential threat to student safety. The administration was immediately informed and law enforcement was notified. A search of the building was conducted while students were kept in their classrooms. Students were dismissed at 2 p.m. The district is offering a $500 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved. Counselors and administrative staff will be available to assist students who wish to talk about any fears or concerns that they have.
