Police-lights

A Fairmont man tried running from Mankato Police to avoid getting arrested for outstanding warrants. An off-duty officer spotted 21-year-old Patrick Pitts Jr. at the River Hills Mall in Mankato on Friday and recognized him for having a warrant in Blue Earth County for Failure to Appear in Court in August. The officer followed Pitts to the Doller Tree Store and waited until another officer arrived before they approached Pitts. While they were searching Pitts, Pitts ran east towards Best Buy. Pitts ignored the officers’ commands to stop and they warned him that he would be tasered. Pitts continued to run, eventually making it onto State Highway 22 where he was met by a Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Deputy in a squad car. Pitts was taken into custody and has been charged with Escaping from Custody and Fleeing an Officer.
