drunk-driving

The night before Thanksgiving or “blackout Wednesday” is traditionally associated with a night of binge drinking with college students coming home and adults celebrating a short work week. 133 drivers were arrested for DWI last year during a 12 hour period on Blackout Wednesday. In comparison, in a typical 48 hour period, roughly 100 people are arrested in Minnesota for DWI. To help keep families together this holiday season, officers, deputies and troopers statewide will be participating in an extra DWI enforcement campaign starting Wednesday and running on weekends through December 29th.
