A Mankato man has been charged with DWI after having a blood alcohol level of over 5 times the legal limit. On the night of November 3rd, a deputy with the Minnesota State Patrol was dispatched to a location just north of Vernon Center. The Deputy found that a vehicle had left the roadway, drove into the ditch and entered a plowed field where they got stuck. The driver was identified as 37-year-old Peder Tryhus. A preliminary breath test showed that Tryhus had a blood alcohol level of .37. The Deputy then took Tryhus to the hospital where his blood test reaveled a Blood Alcohol Concentration of .46, almost 6 times the legal limit.
