At Tuesday’s meeting, the Brown County Board of Commissioners approved an $89,272 quote given for debris removal from the Cottonwood River after several trees were snagged on bridges after storms this summer. A request for quotes was sent out to eight contractors to remove this debris. One response was received from River Ridge Construction after the designated date. Highway Engineer Wayne Stevens said that most contractors find the work too dangerous. The removal of this debris is part of the FEMA reimbursement request. The estimate submitted to FEMA for this debris removal was $85,000. The Commissioners unanimously approved the request.
