Three individuals have been charged after police discovered their vehicle had been reported stolen. On October 26th, an officer with the Gaylord Police Department was patrolling when he ran a routine registration check on a vehicle and it came back stolen, so they initiated a traffic stop. The driver was identified as 24-year-old Richard Lee of Redwood Falls, who had an active warrant out for Felony Domestic Assault in Redwood County. His passengers were identified as 25-year-old Ryan Smith and 22-year-old Jessica Posey. All had conflicting stories about where they were going and what they were doing. Lee admitted that he and Posey were smoking meth in the vehicle. Posey had a notebook in her possession where it was obvious that she was trying to forge a bill of sale of the vehicle. There were multiple drafts in creation. The officer found a baggie of meth weighing .63 grams. All three individuals have been charged in Sibley County Court with possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.
