860 AM KNUJ/SAM 107.3 and your New Ulm HyVee announce this month’s Hometown Heroes: STEM teachers Scott Picha at Lakeside Elementary, and Heather Peirce at Lincoln Elementary in the Glencoe Silver Lake School District.  The schools this year were recognized as a Project Lead the Way Distinguished School for providing access to transformative learning opportunities for students in the STEM and Career Learning Program.  Only 97 elementary schools across the nation received this hone.  Project Lead the Way students engage in critical and creative thinking, build teamwork skills and develop a passion for STEM projects.  Our latest Hometown Heroes – STEM teachers Scott Picha at Lakeside Elementary, and Heather Peirce at Lincoln Elementary in the Glencoe Silver Lake School District.  They’ll receive a HyVee gift card and recognition at a luncheon this fall.
